Commissions
Sculptress JOEL ensures every commission is a seamless and rewarding experience, guiding clients through each stage with expertise and transparency.

Consultation
The process begins with a consultation, which may include a site visit to discuss your vision, expectations, and the intended location of the sculpture. This is an opportunity to understand the subject in detail and explore the best approach for the commission.
Research & Study
A thorough study follows, involving photographs, measurements, and design discussions. Sittings or site visits are arranged where appropriate, ensuring the design fits both the subject and its surroundings. A clear timeline and cost structure are agreed upon, with payments made in stages before each major phase. Any additional work requested during the process is discussed and approved before proceeding.
Craftsmanship & Assurance
Throughout the creation process, you will have the opportunity to see the sculpture in clay before mould making and casting. JOEL works with professional mould makers to capture every detail and personally oversees key stages at the foundry, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Pricing & Investment
The cost of a commissioned sculpture depends on several factors, including size, material, edition size, complexity, location, and JOEL’s current projects. In some cases, a commission may be more cost-effective if it aligns with an existing schedule, or JOEL can propose a design tailored to a specific budget.
Having a portrait or design made for your own home or other space is a special event, and with the Sculptress JOEL you can follow the project throughout, watching the clay being built, and be involved all along with your own observations and feedback.
As a general guide, prices for clay origination range from £2,500 to £18,000 for tabletop sculptures and portrait heads of people or dogs. Life-sized small dog sculptures start at £30,000, with larger statues in bronze requiring additional mould and foundry costs.

Silver
For sculptures cast in silver or silver plate, pricing is determined individually based on current metal market values.
