The wren is one of our favourite birds in the UK. You can discover more about this and many other species here.
Did you know that they are listed as Amber on the UK list of Birds of Conservation Concern due to potential declines during cold winters.
Wrens have inspired many writers and Poets like John Clare – whose poems like ‘The Wren’ are full of detailed observations of the natural world.
The wren has also inspired Joel to write a book for children called The Wren Story – beautifully illustrated – as an introduction to nature for first and early readers. It is a gem of a book to read with children and discover facts about different species. We heard recently that Joel has begun to draft the follow up book with the adventures continuing for the young wrens!
