Gyr Falcon Bronze Bird Statue Commission

Cast in Bronze at the Foundry

The Gyr Falcon sculpture commission has passed through the casting process. I have checked and finished the bronze of this amazing bird and the details have cast well. We have chosen a classic bronze patination for this number one of the edition.   

The professional and highly skilled photographer Adam Shaw has been to the Studio to take photographs of this artwork. This has included a complete 360 which I hope to set at Sculptress JOEL on YouTube soon.

You can see the earlier stages of this project here. I am pleased at the look of the characteristic expression of the eye, the stance and the proportions of this largest Falcon species.

Though this first casting has the classic bronze tones  – I would love to use the white patination  techniques and apply the distinctive black markings of some of the female Gyr for an edition number of this sculpture.
