as she studied and researched about these birds Joel was inspired to write a poem recounting some of the activity of these birds each second. This fires the imagination as we see the second hand make its way and think on what they achieve and makes us appreciate the moments.

I measure time differently
Yes, I do
Sip nectar
That is the fuel
To bring me through
Wingbeat 50 to 200
At the sight of you
Forwards, backwards and upside down, it’s true
My heart soars to 25 and rests at 4
And every measure miraculous to hold love in essence eternal evermore

Description of the Details of the Hummingbird Wall Clock – Sculptress Joel

The green verdigris appearance of the leaves and colour tones of the bird wings is achieved with different temperatures and Copper nitrate. It takes time to get the colour combinations without losing or changing them. In addition the bright glow of the throat is achieved with red-silver leaf. And the Orchid is hand made colour coated steel.

The contemporary yet classic clock face was made by Jason of JG Resin.

I really appreciate the unique colours and patterns in the wood with the cool glow that the resin dial provides.
